How to Explore North Thailand in 4 days.

Thailand is a gem filled with beautiful places and this time around I am not talking about the beaches or islands but the mountainous north. North Thailand is such a must see with a big difference from what you might have seen in Bangkok or down south. Popularly when we talk about the north, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Pai come into mind and yes here are some of the things you can do in and around North Thailand.
Chiang Mai :

  • Visiting sacred temples
  • Trekking adventures
  • Coffee shops
  • Museums
  • Art galleries
  • Nature and wildlife i.e. national parks
  • spa tours and so on.

The whole vibe in Chiang Mai is calm and still with many tourists everywhere, but it is a beautiful place. There is a lot more to do which makes it an endless list but it depends on what you really want personally. Now the other fun thing about Chiang Mai is it’s interesting night life. There is a bunch of night happening places like Zoe in Yellow and around the same location there specifically one Rasta Raggae Bar which has live Reggae music and in my opinion I think it has the best vibes around at area and not forgetting the Old City Night market Night Bazaar . When it comes to accomodation there is a wide range of spots ranging from hostels, guest houses to hotels but I would recommend JN Boxtel ,Old town the place is silent enough and with helpful stuff with reasonable prices per night depending of the seasons.

To Chiang Rai:
From Chiang Mai bus terminal you can take a green bus(199baht) which can be booked online to Chiang Rai and it is also such an amazing adventure, that feeling of going up and down the mountains looking down the slopes is priceless. On reaching at Chiang Rai there are many motorbike rental shops which cost around 350 but there are cheaper options for 200-250 depending on what you really  want in a motor bike though the stronger the bike the better.

  • Here are some of the things you can do in Chiang Rai.
  • Visit The white temple(Wat Rong Khun)
  • Check out The black house (Baan Dam)
  • Visit Museums
  • Ride to the different view points
  • Do bicycle treks Ride up hills to the beautiful tea and coffee plantations
  •  never miss on trying some old country northern Thai food.
