Why Is The God Still White? A black man’s thoughts on Racism!

Sitting down in my daughter’s room refusing to give attention to the ever going conversation about race, a question pops up in my mind. Is God still white? Growing up from a christian home with a strong back ground in faith I have had these on going questions, Why should God only be white yet we are people of different skin colors? Why does the devil have to be black? Why and why? As history shows us White Supremacy has delivered so much evil, yet God is still white.
No where in history has Black supremacy been a saying that has existed.  Has our Race inflicted much so much hate on the other races as the white race has? Are all white people racist? Of course not . Does being black stop you from being racist, no it does not . Let’s focus on how organised religion has played a part in continuing racism. Imagine I teach you from a young age that all the evil and suffering in this world is caused and inspired by the devil or satan who is obviously black, what would you do when you meet a black person? Unless you have educated yourself, you would be scared, defensive and ready to fight the image that reminds you of the devil.
We black people read all those racist facial expressions, we might never say a word but we know when someone is racist. They send off a certain energy that only people of color understand.  That is why coming from a fairly privileged African Family I was taught to never depend on any ones mercy. I cannot rely on any one to help me succeed in life because the systems are not been easy on the people of color. I was taught to be strong, confident, fight back to bullies and never ever let any ones negativity into my space. Well, with time I have changed and learnt to be lenient towards racist people because most of the time it’s ignorance. But we can not continue using ignorance as an excuse for racism.
Being a Black man from Uganda living in south east Asia I get many  opportunities  to travel around Asia countries but I can’t recall the number of times I have been pulled out in a line at airports because of my color, I can’t recall the number of times I had to prove my self because of my skin color. Most times people of color are silent but it hurts. We have learnt how to safe guard our hearts and move on as if nothing happened but it still hurts. Incidences of people walking away when they see you, I remember I was on holiday in Malaysia and we stayed in a dorm and there was an old white man who moved out of the dorm because I moved in. He kept saying I can’t stay with animals, I tried not to cry as in my culture black men don’t cry but I couldn’t hold my tears. I left the room, went in the bathroom cried and decided to move out and paid for a hotel in the city and that was in 2017. Is it worse that some people have decided to carry their racism even in places far away from their homes? So when people of color react, they call us names.. Angry black people, they are loud, they are fierce and you still wonder why we react?
Whatever is going on in the USA has been going on in the entire world where certain races just decide to hate other races but now America being a christian nation, Christ preached and walked LOVE .. Where is the love?
In the Bible 1 corinthians 13:3-8   If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails. Here is an example from the Bible about love. It is not about our words but our actions.Remember it is not a crime to be black, it is not a crime to be Indian, It is not a crime to Asian, and it not a crime to be Hispanic, It is not a crime to have colour. I have not included the white race because it has never been a crime to be white! Since God is white but the devil is of color. Please let us change, unlearn the lies and educate our selves with the correct narrative, because as  humans we all have the same blood color and it’s neither white nor black but Red.In conclusion: So much needs to change but if the core of our beliefs like the white God is not changed, we shall never stop the conversation about race.
